New Storage hardware unveiled at the just concluded NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) conference in Las Vegas shows real “Promise” for Mac based Video storage and archiving. Now, using a MacBook Pro as a professional quality video editing, storage, and archiving platform is becoming reality.     The reason this is such a potential game changer on the MBP is a new I/O port co-developed with Intel. Thunderbolt has two bi-directional 10Gbps channels, more than 10x faster than FireWire 800. Thunderbolt devices can be daisy-chained, and can attach via adapters to several other type of I/O devices such as 4Gb FibreChannel, FireWire, USB, and Gigabit Ethernet.
